“Undercurrent” is one of those pieces that emerged more from feeling than form. I painted it during a time when I was submerged in introspection — not necessarily sadness, but a kind of deep, quiet pull below the surface of everyday life. The green tones are layered intentionally, drawing the eye inward as if being gently tugged by an unseen force. To me, it speaks of the quiet but powerful emotions that run beneath our conscious awareness — the ones that shape us even when we don’t realize they’re there. There’s movement in this stillness, like being held in an ocean’s cradle. It’s not a storm. It’s not chaos. It’s the subtle shift of something deep within — persistent, calm, and unignorable.
